The 3rd Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) Bitumen and Base Oil Conference was held in Mumbai, India during the 1st and 2nd August 2018. The event comprised of more than 200 delegates from all over the world: technical experts, traders, businessmen, infrastructure experts, lubricant manufacturers, marketers and base oils producers. Two conferences were set side by side, one for Bitumen and the other for Base Oils and Lubricants. It was a good opportunity to meet some of the industry leaders and prominent stake holders in one place and have access to insightful presentations, networking opportunities and a single platform to exchange ideas and information.

The Conference agenda’s most important topics covered the India lubricant market which is growing very strongly alongside the Indian economy, the Middle East and India base oils trade flows and the new challenges created by the development of electric vehicles for the lubes industry. As for the marine lubricants segment, the presentation by Cockett Group’s Caroline Huot Global Head - Lubricants generated a lot of interest from regional lubricant manufacturers and was the only presentation in the agenda covering the subject of IMO 2020 challenges.
