Taking place on 27 September 2023 at the Address Hotel, Istanbul, Türkiye, this one-day conference, included internal and external expert speakers and panelists, discussing three key areas:
- Regulatory Update (IMO 2023 GHG Strategy, EU ETS Scheme, FuelEU Maritime Initiative, Med ECA, and EEXI&CII)
- Current Fuel Quality Trends
- Alternative Fuels Update (with a special focus on LNG, Methanol, Ammonia, and Biofuels)
While the shipping and marine fuels industries continue to pursue and add to decarbonization efforts, significant regulatory changes are in the pipeline that will impact the future of these industries. As part of our Group's ongoing efforts to promote and facilitate constructive dialogue and collaboration among industry participants, we covered the subjects mentioned above in presentations and panel discussions, seeking to educate and learn from the stakeholders present.
The day's agenda included Welcoming and Closing Remarks from Cem Saral, Cockett Group CEO, presentations on Fuel Quality Trends and Alternative Fuels by Colin Holloway and Dennis Pronk, Global Head - Technical and Group Technical Manager respectively, as well as an update on recent regulations by both Cockett Group Commercial Heads - Jayson Fisher (EMEA) and Gareth Williamson (Asia).
Additionally, external support was provided from presentations by Bill Stamatopoulos, VeriFuel Global Business Development Director, Bureau Veritas Group, and panelist Francisco Pedro, Sales Manager Marine Fuels - CEPSA.
Feedback from all sides indicated it was a successful and informative event. We look forward to bringing the same material and subjects to Singapore for the Cockett Group Knowledge Series event taking place on 15 November at The Fullerton Hotel, Singapore. Again this will be an invite-only event, so please get in touch with your representative at Cockett Group.
