The fourth annual Middle East Bunkering Convention organised by Petrospot on the 23rd & 24th Jan 2019 in Dubai provided a major forum for discussion about the key challenges facing the region’s marine fuels sector, as well as the opportunities for established and emerging ports and industry players.

Shipowners, operators, bunker suppliers and traders, surveyors, agents, maritime lawyers and the representatives of related service industries attended the event.
  
The event debated the key questions on current trends, including how IMO 2020 will impact supply & demand. Attendees and speakers discussed how fuel buyers in the Middle East region are preparing for the global sulphur cap. 

The agenda included discussions on fuel quality and specs, fuel supply and demand – and asked, will bunker hubs in the Middle East be ready to offer required fuel grades and lubes. The content covered bunker quality, quantity, regulation and developments in supply, demand and infrastructure.

Key points of credit concern for lawyers and credit managers during 2019 were also debated during the one and a half-day conference in the Intercontinental Hotel in Dubai.
