Cockett’s UK office team as part of the Group’s Cockett Cares initiative chose to give back to the homeless of London and participated in making homemade food packs which consisted of sandwiches, a bottle of water and a chocolate bar. They split into 3 groups and on 29th March and handed them out to the homeless people around the Central London areas. 
 
The team handed out more than 80 lunch parcels to the homeless over a period of 2 hours across the Bermondsey, Borough Market, Waterloo, Charing Cross & Leicester Square area. They spent time talking to and understanding the individual’s circumstances. All of the recipients were appreciative of the food gesture, time spent and more importantly recognition of their situations.
 
The UK Office team were all humbled at how positive the people remained and how supportive they were of each other, only ever taking one pack and suggesting other areas of where friends would be located and grateful for something to eat. The team were also pleased with the fact that a small contribution made such a positive difference to others immediate circumstances, as well as being personally rewarding too.
