On Saturday 9 November our Dubai office held a Wadi Clean-up in Ras Al-Khaimah. As part of our 45th year anniversary activities, and under the Cockett Cares initiative, our team enjoyed a day of cleaning up a wadi and learning about the desert.

The Cockett Cares initiative was originally created as part of the Group’s 40th anniversary celebrations in 2019. To commemorate this milestone Cockett employees participate in charitable acts and goodwill initiatives, such as environmental clean-ups, renovating hospital storerooms, and preparing and distributing food packages for those in need.

For this initiative, over 30 volunteers made up of Dubai office employees and their families made the journey to Wadi Shawkah in Ras Al-Khaimah to pick up rubbish, while the guides from Companies for Good also provided insights into the local wildlife and environment. The volunteers were also given useful safety tips for surviving in the desert.
